With Cinco de Mayo coming tomorrow, I thought I’d drop by to share that mango sauce. This is one of my favorite spring and summer recipes because it’s refreshing, fun, and so easy. Follow the recipe once or twice, and you can leave the measuring cups in the drawer and watch the ingredients. After that, you can change it in any way. Stir in the avocado or add some black beans.
To make this sweet & spicy salsa, the juicy recipe needs these just 7 healthy and yummy ingredients:
- ½ jalapeño, minced
- Juice and zest 1 lime
- ¼ cup diced red onion
- 2 medium ripe mangos
- 2 small garlic cloves, grated
- ¼ cup well-chopped cilantro
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt, more to taste
Mangos, of course, it’s the main ingredient of my delicious recipe. Without mango our salsa is incomplete, any ripe mango you like to eat works here, but Ataulfo or Champagne mangos (pictured above) are my always first pick for this amazing recipe.
I prefer them to red mangos because they have a softer, smooth, juicier texture and sweeter flavor than the other mangos.
Red onion for color, crunch, and sharp, savory flavor. Red online enhances the rich flavor in our recipe.
Cilantro flecks the salsa with green and adds a fresh flavor. Add this cilantro for the refreshing and rich flavor of mango salsa.
Lime juice, makes the salsa bright and tangy. Lemon adds a unique taste to our recipe.
Garlic For a sharp depth of flavor. The garlic flavor in the salsa gives an amazing taste. I always add garlic to my all recipes for their rich taste.
Jalapeño is used for heat.
Sea salt to bring out all the flavors. To balance the taste, we add sea salt.
How to make it
You just add all the ingredients to a bowl. Stir all the ingredients mixed get to make it well. Your yummy juicy texture salsa is ready to eat. Enjoy different things. You can eat this at any meal of the day.
Mango Sauce Recipe Variations
This mango sauce recipe is super flexible! Feel free to change it to your liking or use whatever you have on hand.
Here are some of my favorite variations:
Add avocado. Avocado makes our recipe more favorable, and better. Add 1/21 diced avocado for a richer, creamier sauce. Pickle something.
For an extra-shiny and spicy salsa, replace raw jalapeños with pickled ones. Pickled red onions would also be great here! Turn up the volume. Turn this mango salsa into a heartier salsa by adding 1/2 cup of cooked black beans and a few finely diced red bell peppers.
Tips for Serving Mango Salsa
This Mango Salsa recipe is perfect to enjoy the mango flavor. I love it on its own with tortilla chips, and it’s also a great way to spice up guacamole. Pour it over your next bowl of guac for a dip in disguise! But your options for serving it don’t stop there.
Here are some of my favorite ways to use it:
On tacos. Pour it over these Vegan Fruit Tacos or any of these 11 Best Veggie Taco Recipes! On a salad. Add a scoop to your next taco salad. On the nachos. Top it off with these Stuffed Pompanos or Stuffed Peppers for a sweet and spicy flavor.
In burrito bowls. Start with a cilantro lime rice base and creamy pinto beans. Then, fill the bowl with fajita vegetables, guac, and a scoop of mango salsa. Add a drizzle of chipotle sauce or lime cilantro vinaigrette to cover it all up!
